Well with Impulse you need to have an account to run anything off it.  Which imo is nice cause it kind of prevents piracy.  I usually buy everything from Impulse so if this is going to be up on impulse, thats perfect.

Any idea if you can get the game on GamersGate?

I usually buy my games off steam / gamersgate and have a collection on both, so i dont really want to go and buy it on impulse so that I dont have my games so spread apart. But if its not possible, this game is too hard to miss just because of that little detail, so ill guess ill buy it from there.

And grats on getting a distributor in the first place, I know that a couple people have had trouble with their games, but it seems like you have it all good.

Did you ever try asking BigFishGames also? Big casual gamers market there and the larger games start at $19.95 so around the same pricepoint.

Welp, while technically I would of prefered Steam if ONLY because I already have Steam installed. I don't mind this Impulse thing either.  ....Not that I've ever used the Impulse service, or even heard of it before, but hey, as long as I can get the full vers of Recettear, I'm pretty happy .   I'm just glad we have a release date now. Now I must continue spreading the word~!

I've used Steam, Impulse, and GamersGate before, so I don't mind buying it on Impulse. That said, if I were to have my preference, I'd rather have it on GamersGate. From them you simply get a downloader app specifically for each game which downloads the game and then starts the installation process. Afterward you can delete the downloader and not have any GamersGate specific files left on your computer.

Is that true? Looks to me like only "Collectors Editions" of games are $20 on there (though there's no way to search by price so I could be missing them). I thought their whole gimmick was "everything is $6.99".

Ah perhaps I was looking at a Collectors Edition.

The best part about Impulse is its seamless offline mode (much better than Steam's) and the fact that you can launch most game EXEs without Impulse having to run in the background. With some exceptions that is usually not the case for Steam which is why when I can I prefer Impulse over Steam.

Also Impulse has always been really cool with indie devs because Stardock started as a small self published outfit themselves. If they are the first to support Carpe Fulger then I will be the first to support them.
