Saw it on the steam specials page.  "An Item Shop Tale" made me click it.  The demo made me buy it.
Is it better to be feared, or to be respected?

.... Is it too much to ask for both?

I heard about it from the Rock Paper Shotgun article.

Same here.In fact,I remember how it all happened...

Quote from: Memory lane
It was a hot day of July.I was searching all and wide on the internet for something to do,when I stumbled upon RPS's article on recettear.

"Eeeh...looks like more animu crap...
...
...
...
...Well,I got nothing else to do.Let's see if it's as good as they say it is..."

<2.5hours later>
"WHERE'S THE BUY BUTTON??!?!?!?"

I heard first about it in germanys biggest gaming forum. http://www.gamestar.de/community/gspinboard/showpost.php?p=12543029&postcount=1126 This guy is one of the greatest supporters of independent games and always updates the thread when he finds something good. :)

Found out about it in the steam newsletter and couldn't help but chuckle at the fact that steam now offers a game like this.
Definitly a step into the right direction~

I saw it on Top Seller on Steam. Could not avoid it any longer as it rose up to Top 3 on sales... It's like a good mix of dungeon crawling of Zelda, Rune Factory, etc. with mellow atmosphere at the item shop haggling people down to death.

A fellow gamer on Transformice told me about it, he pointed me out due to my username(which has been Capitalism, for years now).
Ha, ha! Late reply but that was me - I noticed your comments under the RPS article already. Can't believe I actually hit the right spot just by taking your username and a friendly attitude in a completely unrelated game. It's nice to see word of mouth work. ^^

I heard about it on NeoGAF a while back, but forgot about it.

Then it showed up on Steam and I bought it and played the demo (in that order...).

Heard about it from other people on a forum I visit. Downloaded the demo and it was really quite awesome, and really cheap too.
It reminds me of Azure Dreams. Gonna buy it off Impulse tomorrow.

Also lol'd at the little exchange at the end of the demo. Isn't digital distribution a wonderful thing?

Looking forward to see what other games pop up from here.

I saw it on Steam, thought it looked like a fun anime-style rpg similar to Lunar Story, then saw there was a free demo so couldn't resist. Very charming game that sold me in the first ten minutes, and had a problem quitting to get to bed for the next half hour <Edited: Actually make that "the next hour". Didn't see the time!> :D Great work guys! I love it!

I saw it on Steam, thought "Oh man, anime crap on Steam" but noticed it was indie, so I thought I'd have a read. The premise interested me, so i got the demo. It only took a few lines of dialogue to make me realise that my first thought of "anime crap" was completely and utterly wrong. Purchase soon followed ;D

Reddit. From there, to Steam and a small truckload of blog posts, to the Demo and finally, the Purchase button.

I first heard about this game on Slashdot. Kept hearing about it on IRC. Played the demo. Bought.
