Recettear: Pricing and Release Date?
« on: July 27, 2010, 09:13:40 AM »
I wonder if they have an estimated release date for this yet or even pricing?  I really want to get this game.  Finished the demo and enjoyed every second of it.

I'm just going to throw my weight behind "enjoyed every second of it", not so much the outcry for a pricing estimate and a release date (Though those are always nice)

I've heard the price is going to be $20 USD. I'm hoping for a quick release though, else I'll probably play the demo too much and grow tired of it. :(

As always, our expected price point is $20 USD, and our release date is "we'll almost assuredly have something ready to release by August, but who knows when we'll have distributors via which we can sell it." Though if we haven't got anything relatively ready by the time we have a release-ready copy we'll probably do our own distribution in the meantime, but that's a backup plan.

That's what the (hopefully coming) news section and related rss feed would be for.  (shameless plug of easy solution)

Well, I guess it is a easier solution...
How would it send news to email though? :P

Some people don't even use RSS Feeds!  :o

I was wondering about pricing myself.  I really liked the demo and won't steal the game since y'all are such good sports about it, but I've got less money than the little girls and can't haggle very effectively with a computer.

It's a lot better deal than what Manga Gamer was trying to sell; $50 for a visual novel.

...and is the $20 they estimate 130% of base price?  ;D

I want to know whether the game will be sold as a digital download, or hard copies, or what. On one hand, avoiding shipping costs would be great, on the other hand it's nice to have something to put on a shelf!

I like the demo btw. I am not sure I like some of the language in the localisation, but the game is plenty fun enough for me to want to buy it!

It has been stated somewhere (I forget where), but the game will most likely be Digital Download only. If you want a shelf copy, burn it to disk, that's part of the reason for no Copy Protection being attached to it. Not the same as an official box of course, but meh, I never liked Physical Clutter much. Hardcopy FTL, Software FTW!

Also, I hope $20 isn't 130%, because as a new customer, I won't pay the full 130%. Mabye next item I will!

...or, I could trade in my old Family Heirloom Food for money first, that'd help I'm sure.
