CF Games > Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale
A glitch
Yellow Ant:
This is a bug I've found that happens when you fail the "practice sale" part of the selling tutorial enough times.
Tear gets so frustrated she turns into a nameless mute white space

Then she tries to buy a sword, but no matter what price you choose, it throws up an error and goes back to the start.

The only way to get out of the cycle is to close the game.
tyroney:
Do I want to know how many times enough is?
SpaceDrake:
Hmmmm. While we'll make note of it, we failed the tutorial a fair few times and I'm kind of confident this won't come up in "normal" play, so this is kind of going low in the priority pile :P
Capitalism:
ahh, yes, I completed the research into this issue, here are the results:
I completed the original tutorial correctly, then spoke to Tear about Lectures, and began it again.
After completing first 3 training parts, she says to try to really sell her an item, I did it once, and she wants me to try it again.
On the second attempt, I try to sell the item for 1pix, after 3 tries, she re-starts the sale, I do it again for 3 tries, on the 3rd sale restart, I asked to sell for 1pix, then 1pix, then 1,000,000pix. This is what triggers the event with the missing data.
Important note: I also attempted this in the full version(Japanese of course), and the data is also missing there in the original. I'd say Yellow Ant found a good little bug that seems to have shipped with the original game. Unless of course my original Japanese copy is somehow tainted.

Great find though I'd say.

While I'm here, and trying to recreate the bug myself, I found during the Selling lecture that Recette i'll say:
"Uh... lesse..."
I assume its a typo also because Tear just told her to set the price higher than the baseline :P
I guess it might not be a typo but just a note :P
