Two Years And Climbing - Post #1: The Present
« on: July 19, 2012, 03:32:32 AM »
I finally dust off the old blog to talk about a little thing we're doing on Steam right now, and to discuss what we're up to.

Some of it we still can't talk about. But some of it we can.

More like "two years since a blog update and climbing"
It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.

And really finally, because we perhaps do not say it often enough: thank you. You people, our fans, Recettear’s fans, Fortune Summoners’ fans, indie RPG fans, are the people who have given wind to our sails, as cliche as that may sound.

What about Chantelise's fans. :I
TG: and a ruined cake! it was going 2 be so delish, but no
TG: it was claimed by the cruel and unforgiving sands of lopan

Excellent. I look forward to the TL notes.

I won't be playing FS just yet since I'm currently really busy with meatspace stuff, but that would be cool.

I'm also looking forward to the sales numbers, myself.  Always been curious about video game industry economics.

I'm looking forward to those sale numbers, all right.

Surely Recettear has well over 200,000 sales by now. I look forward to the day that Recettear hits the quarter of a million mark. I hope it comes soon, making it a quarter of a way to the top 100 best selling PC games of all time in less than 3 years would be amazing.

I am a bit late, but congrats on that two years, has it really been that long I have been following you. (Not literally of course; or maybe...)  ;D

I can’t wait to discuss where we’ve been, what we’ve done, and what we’re doing with all of you.

I'd say you're quite able to wait.  Very able in fact.

Make with the information!

Come to think of it...

Something I and many other Recettear fans would like to see: some official insight on the game's mechanics.

I know people have been debating long and hard about things like how a Just bonus actually works or what random variation affects it, whether items appear more often in dungeons if you sell them more often in shops, and stuff like that.

I understand that knowing the mechanics would basically mean the game becomes cheesable, but not discussing the mechanics definitely doesn't prevent players from trying to optimize their gameplay anyway.

I'm hoping the delay on the announcement isn't because FS severely undersold compared during its first sale compared to CF expectations.  I know that for me the momentum CF had going into FS seemed less than the momentum from Recettear to Chantelise and part of Recettears success came from its innovative to steam release.  I'm hoping lizsoft isn't really annoyed at CF for giving him what seemed to be reasonable sales expectations and then the first sale under performed what CF thought.
