RenaTheArchmage:
So, citizens, the steam summer sale has started, so scramble the squadrons and stock up several-

Okay, I can't do this.

The Steam 2012 Summer Sale has started today, which means all Carpe Fulgur titles 50% off (Chantelise is $5, Recettear is $10, and Fortune Summoners is $10).

Additionally, there are several other great games, such as Deus Ex: Human Revolution, Portal 2, and my new favorite, Crusader Kings 2 ($10, with heavily discounted DLC and $2.50 for the expansion) going for 75% off.

Also, if you've been sitting on the fence, the Gundemonium Collection is $5 for all three games (Recollection, GundeadliGne, and Hitogato Happa) or $2 a game if you need to round out your collection.

Terraria is $2.50 as well.

Please note that Terraria, Portal,  Crusader Kings and Gundemonium are daily sales, and Deus Ex is a flash sale, ending two hours from this post.

DDRJake:
I picked up Legend of Grimrock as I heard it was pretty good and I just got paid.

For anyone thinking of getting into Grand Strategy, the Paradox Publisher pack is pretty much the best value-for-money gaming purchase the world has ever known.

If any interesting games are on sale that you can recommend, please let me know.  They don't have to be particularly good, just interesting.

RenaTheArchmage:
I've been wanting to try Gundemonium and Terraria for the longest time, and have heard they're well worth their full price, so I picked up those.

Other than that, I haven't found anything cheap that really grabs me. A lot of games are five, ten, fifteen dollars off, though.

Skyrim is $20 off now, so it's only $40 if anyone wants to get it at that price.

Just found this one-cent difference amusing.  That said, if I had the money I'd gladly pay an extra cent to the people who brought us Recettear and helped in part to pave the way for Japanese/animesque games to reach western gamers through Steam.

I wonder if there'll be like a single day when everything's 75% off though.

Bummer. Not all that great of timing for me. I'm known to buy extra copies of things for my friends. If just to support the industry. Goodness knows I want to promote the doujin game industry in general and certainly in the West.

I'm feeling pretty broke right now though. A lot of stuff have happened lately to sap my wallet, and I'm not feeling particularly generous. If Recettear or Fortune Summoners was like, $5, I'd get a couple for my inventory to give to some people. But the $10 price tag is just enough to make me feel slightly poor.

I have house work I've done recently, an Atlus sale I've cleaned up on, a trip out of state, an extra 2TB internal hard drive, and the Nintendo Wii U, and several games being released very soon I need to be ready to get or even just have the money for my pre-orders I've already made. Pokemon Black & White 2, just to name one of them. All cutting into my bank account.

Not a good time for me to be blowing money on a sale.
