Galactical Maiden Ciel - Indiegogo Campaign Live!
EroBotan:
Hi!
So I've been working to create a game for a while and I think it will be nice if I can get some input about the game. The gameplay will be a mix between RPG (I'm imitating Rivierra, so it's more like turn base dungeon exploring stuff instead the usual RPG with free movement), Visual Novel, and a bit of stat raising element. Though most of the playing time will be spent in the dungeon I guess. Oh, and there will be pets in the game, a really really big mechanical dragon and turtle for now. The turtle will become the player's mothership.
The game is still in development, so everything is not set in stone yet, they may change/improved to provide better gameplay experience.
the story is about Kana and Alice (Alice is an android) who get kidnapped by ancient tribe and undergo body modification to become powerful warriors. With the help of a mysterious person, they manage to escape before being brainwashed. So now Kana has the ability to transform into a powerful warrior (ok, not really powerful since the body modification was interrupted but she's stronger than normal person at least) while Alice get a human emotion thanks to the mysterious person. Yeah, the story is very Kamen Rider like XD
For some reason, I can't post pictures in this thread so here is the Link to my blog. There is only around 5 posts about the game right now and they're all in the first page so you don't have to worry about getting lost and stuff ^^.
Edit: Gameplay video is added here
Edit 2: Indiegogo Campaign is live here
I'll appreciate some critique, suggestion, and stuff. Thanks!

There is lot more work to be done, judging from the pictures - but enough for me to check in on the progress in half a year or so. You mentioned Kamen Rider, but I am not familiar with that series, so I would like to know what kinds of games that you are using for inspiration for the gameplay and setting?

Think Power Rangers, but with one ranger wearing insect armor and riding on a motorbike like a boss...that's what I understand from that anyway.
And yeah, this game looks promising, I like the art so far, I'll chime on in later on to check the progress.

Thanks for the interest X3 !!
Yeah, TheSwordUser is correct ^^! I'm not using the insect theme in my game though, but you will find some similar elements to kamen rider, like:
1. the main protagonist can transform
2. evil organization
3. the enemy kidnap the protagonist and turn her/him into a cyborg. The protagonist manage to escape and fight the them. This event is used mostly in the older series (before 1990 I guess?)
4. Scarf of Asskicking (again, in the older series of kamen rider)
The basic engine for dungeon exploration and visual novel elements are pretty much finished. So that's two monster done ( I still have to provide contents for them though which involves lots and lots of sprites drawing). I'm working on the stat system right now, hopefully I can finish the basic engine for it in one or two weeks :D
oh, and english is not my first language, so I'll definitely hiring a proofreader and editor once the story is finished ^^
again, don't hesitate to let me know if you have suggestion and stuff!
Sabin Stargem:
I can't make any good suggestions right now. Part of that comes from not having the actual game to play, so I can't do a proper nitpick. The other issues have to do with understanding what kind of gameplay you are going for. While I do play and understand genres like Visual Novels and JRPGs, the thing that makes the good ones special is how they differentiate themselves from their kindred. For example, the Battle Network series are JRPGs with an anime aesthetic and real-time battles, while Lufia II has Zelda-esque puzzles and dungeons. They are both excellent and share the same genre, but have no similarities.
My recommendation to you is to play many different games if you want to further your understanding of them as a game developer. After awhile, you should notice the elements that feel right to you, and the ones that don't. Especially take note of really bad points, like if the interface feels confusing or sluggish, since it is terribly easy for a player to lose their immersion when they notice something is off.
The strongest point of your game so far is the aesthetics, as they look fairly decent so far, despite being at an early stage. :)
