La-Mulana - maybe Carpe Fulgur could publish it?

(1/4) > >>

Sabin Stargem:
According to the development blog for the remake of La-Mulana, the translation of the game is already completed and the Wiiware version was sent to be finalized.  However, the PC version isn't quite done yet, but Nigoro is trying to figure out how to distribute the game.  Considering how fluent Nigoro is in Engrish, perhaps Carpe Fulgur could handle the publishing and distribution of the PC remake of the game.  I think that this could be a very good title for Carpe Fulgur to add to their catalog, as my experience with the original version of La-Mulana was excellent, so I have high hopes for the remade version.

We have almost finished developing it.
Debuggers are in the middle of testing.
In the meantime, we are discussing where and how to sell it.
Off course, PC version is being released overseas.

Well, he says it's being released overseas, so I'd assume that Nicalis is already handling it. Who knows, though! If they need a hand, we'd be happy to give it.

Sabin Stargem:
In the case of La-Mulana, it is being released on multiple platforms (Wii and now PC), and is already being sold in Japan for the Wii.  I am having a hard time nailing down what exactly they are saying on the blog, as I am not fluent in Engrish.  I felt it would be an good idea to mention La-Mulana as a possibility for Carpe Fulgur to publish in the west, as I know that the original game is very good - and thus, should be an good addition to Carpe Fulgur's lineup.  Provided that Nigoro doesn't yet have a solid plan for how to handle the western distribution of the PC version, it could be an opportunity for Carpe Fulgur to step in and say "Hey, let us handle it."

I recommend trying the original freeware version, as that would help make clear whether or not La-Mulana would be worth publishing.

Hmmm.

They haven't said anything about the PC version, I will note.

Sabin Stargem:
A part of me isn't too surprised about the western Wiiware release's cancellation.  That version has been delayed for a long time, for reasons unknown.  Is it Nintendo (distributor), Nicalis (publisher), or Nigoro (developer) at fault?   I really hope that the PC version fares better.  Nigoro should get some cash for creating La-Mulana, and I would absolutely love to play an even better version of the game.

EDIT:  ...my gods.  According to Nigoro (developer), they weren't told about the Wiiware release's cancellation before Nicalis (publisher) made that tweet.  That is incredibly messed up.   :P
