Not metal?

Yup, I thought that might've been the case, I made sure to include "If you want" because of that possibility.  ;)

Although for Minecraft I felt the opposite way, and decided to play my first single-player experience without knowing all the recipes and just guessing and trying to figure out the items in the game. It really was a fun challenge for me.  :D

Oh well, good luck! :)

EDIT:

--- Quote from: pastacrusade on April 20, 2012, 12:06:20 AM ---I like this game; but their next game, or a patch of this one, I hope will address this issue.  Like I said before, I understand the reason that silver is not a "metal," but i don't think that voids my point as well.

Yeah, I understand, I think I made the same mistake too. It should've made sense to include a hint or reminder saying that there is a difference between the metals, with Tear mentioning it or something. Spacedrake will probably read this, but I doubt he'd be able to do anything about it.  :(

pastacrusade:
Yeah, I guess you are right on Spacedrake not doing anything about it.  All i am really looking for is an "oh shit, good call" from the Dev team.  I know that could sound pompous, but responding to consumer feedback is I expect from an indie title.  Other then that one thing, I'm at day 38ish and I'm really liking the game.  I really wish I had more time to make more money, but that's the point :)

Well it's not that he won't do anything about it, it's that he can't! Carpe Fulgur didn't make the game but only localized it. Spacedrake could talk to EGS (who are the original makers) and they could maybe fix it up for a patch, but it might be too late...

We'll see what he thinks, since I shouldn't be speaking for him anyway.  ;)

BlondRobin:
I actually remember finding this one while working on Recettear and making funny, confused faces at it for a while, but it's not a bug. EGS clearly differentiated between 'metals' and 'precious metals'. Now, we could use 'base metals,' but not everything under 'metal' is clearly a 'base metal.' Especially IIRC some of the 'this comes from weird ruins!' stuff might have trouble deciding if it should be base or precious metals, and furthermore I'm not sure a lot of people are familiar with the term.

It's an oddity, I agree, though. I'm sorry you had trouble with it.

pastacrusade:
I just finished the game.  I ran into something similar but this time it was funny.  The first adventurer you meet came into my shop and wanted to sell an heirloom.  It was near the end of the game so I was expecting some kind of 20,000+ pix treasure.  What did he offer me?  A cherry.  At first I thought maybe this is a another little missed detail, but then i realized, that guy is just dumb enough to try a line like that and poor Recette is too nice too call him out on it.  I bought it just to be nice.
