Not metal?

It was near the end of the game so I was expecting some kind of 20,000+ pix treasure. What did he offer me? A cherry. At first I thought maybe this is a another little missed detail, but then i realized, that guy is just dumb enough to try a line like that and poor Recette is too nice too call him out on it. I bought it just to be nice.

Louie? Yeah, he's not the richest person. ;)

All i am really looking for is an "oh shit, good call" from the Dev team. I know that could sound pompous, but responding to consumer feedback is I expect from an indie title. Other then that one thing, I'm at day 38ish and I'm really liking the game. I really wish I had more time to make more money, but that's the point :)

I think one reason no one posted saying good call is that this game has been out a long time, many thousands of people noticed the same thing you did, it's not an oversight. your proposed change is just bad. metals and precious metals fits best! a lot of Japanese games have this distinction. the current setup is a good fit, and the truest to the original material! now maybe it would be easier to "read" and "understand" if the categories were combined, but using the term "base metal" would be nonsensical... "base metal" isn't even a term that anyone knows at all. (bronze couldn't be a base metal could it? I mean it's an alloy? and non-precious metals just sounds silly and weird)...
for players familiar playing professionally translated japanes games by companies such as atlus and square enix, the distinction should already be fairly familiar. the confusion is likely only to trip a player up once, causing them to immediately learn the difference with no real need to consult the wiki ever, and recettear is the sort of game designed around allowing players to easily make single mistakes (even fairly often).
so yeah, why would someone post and say "that's a good catch?" on something that was basically already settled/solved/discussed a year or two earlier :-p

Silver is SO metal, I mean, it can kill evil things, is frequently made into weapons, etc. It gets the Nathan Explosion seal of approval:)
Kidding around aside, I can see a joke between tear and recette about an object NOT being metal, or being metal with Recette saying something about how she thinks silver still is metal and Tear just having her *resigned sigh* face.
