I just installed Chantelise on my PC. I was unable to go beyond the initial menu far, since only the arrow keys are active there (I can move the selection up/down amongst "start game"/"options"/...), but pressing "enter" or "return" doesn't cause anything to happen.
Nice music, though...
Based on what I read in
http://www.carpefulgur.com/forum/index.php?topic=1917.0 , I cleared all the pad settings - no change.
Also tried to start in window mode (rather than the default full screen), but then I see a series of error messages flash past (unable to find a series of bmp files on the c:\ drive, etc) and the initial menu won't even show up.
Note that, since this is the opposite behaviour to that reported in the post above (where it seems that window mode works a touch less bad than full screen mode), I created this separate post instead of adding to the existing one.
The compatibility assistant from Win7 made me start in XP SP2 mode - didn't work either.
My PC is a Win7 64 bit laptop.
The only thing that may look like a control device is the integrated touchpad.
The game was installed under a non-admin profile, but an admin password was supplied (twice) during installation, and no error messages were reported.
Is there something that I can try?
