Just to note, little birdies are tellin' me that there's even more Japanese stuff comin' to the PC this year that isn't even formally announced yet. And this doesn't even have anything to do with what we're working on~

(I am literally The Worst Tease)

If I were to scrap all these bugs you planted in various game studios, would I earn enough to buy all these games?

Seriously though, this sounds interesting...
It could be Dark Souls

But that's been basically announced/heavily teased elsewhere.

I've heard rumours that ATLUS might be porting Katherine to the PC, but they're pretty well unsubstantiated (Albeit reported in PC Gamer)

I'm really curious as to what SpaceDrake has heard... he's such a tease - About his own work and that of others >:[

I wonder how well Ys did. It was only charting for the first day or two, so I have a feeling it'll be pretty front-loaded when it comes to sales, but the fact that it was number one for nearly a day against much more expensive games is at least hopeful.

I also wonder what sort of sales they would have needed to have to consider it a success. It seems like the updating was minimal, if at all, and just used the PSP version's script. So it was as close to free as a game release can be. Will the sales be good enough to justify xseed bringing out games that have never been released in the US and/or on the PC before?

The implementation of Steamworks features isn't quite trivial, and they've made it clear they are still updating the game, attempting to resolve issues and potentially patch in proper widescreen support.

Nothing from the PC release uses anything done for the PSP release.  The two versions had slight differences in game dialogue in Japanese, and the Steam release also reflects this, localizing the PC version's dialogue instead of the PSP version's.

Ahh, I wasn't aware of that.

Well, either way, I hope the sales were enough for them. I also hope the sales for the next one (origins?) are even better. As I understand it, that game's never been released outside of Japan, right?

As do I. Surely it sold pretty well, for what it was. It wasn't exactly super hyped and reported before its release. Also, everyone knows what Steam means; steady, perpetual sales.(Am I using the semicolon right?)

I know if it ever goes on a big sale, I'll be buying several copies and giving them to friends. Doing my part, and all that.

Just finished Ys, and, surprise, Andrew Dice (SpaceDrake) is cited in the credits.
Anyway, it's a pretty nice game, with fun combat and good bosses, go get it if you havn't yet.

Definitely pick it up. It might be one of my favorite action games of all time.

Though my god do the boss fights represent a significant spike in difficulty ._.

I'm not too sure if I like Ys. I mean, I can certainly see why people like it, but I just don't feel too sucked into it. Do I just need to keep playing it until it eventually gets going?

The first bit kind of drags on for awhile, but i feel like the first dungeon (the mines) is a pretty fair model for the rest of the game. You get some new abilities and everything, but if you're not having fun by the time you beat the first boss, the game's probably not going to get any better for you.

Apparently, Origins is well on its way now too, and the intro has been re-dubbed into better French, so it doesn't sound like "Flench" as some put it over on the XSeed forums, lol.

Also, if you'd give me a moment to make a little plug-I know it's sort of improper for new members to do this, but it seems like the appropriate topic and an appropriate line of thought, so if you'd just bear with me..? ^^;;

I'm the sort of co-admin of the TOTALLY 100% UN-official, fan run XSeed group on steam. We started it up when Oath came out, and a lot of members of the Nihon Falcom group joined up as well. We started out as just a thing to build up a sense of community and talk about games, but we've expanded pretty fast, and we now do weekly podcasts, and even contests/gift exchanges sometimes. It's a party. :P So if you've bought Oath, or just want some like-minded people to talk with, please consider joining us. ^^ You don't even need Oath [I don't have it still, oops!!] and a lot of our members are also fans of CF titles, so everyone's welcome and you'll fit right in. Link's here, for your convenience. http://steamcommunity.com/groups/xseed/

Thanks for giving me your time! ^^ Sorry to bother you guys, lol.
