Aaargh, stop being cryptiiiiic~

(Please tell me it's a PC title at least, I'm too poor and irish [Well, Gaelic. Being a Scot and all] to afford another console D: )

And, is there any news on TT? How is EGS doing with it? Because I'm really looking forward to it.

(Have you guys thought about doing a free-translation of the TT trial? Would be great if you could >_> )

EGS themselves would prefer we not do any TT work until the game is at least close to shipping in Japanland. So we won't even be working on the demo for a while.

And still no word on TT, beyond "it's being worked on". EGS actually does maintain a Territoire dev blog, but it's generally minor updates.

And I believe I've said before: Project Four is of indeterminate platform and that's about all I can say on that front.

This does bring up a question that has been percolating in my mind for a time.

Currently, Carpe Fulgur is not working on Territoire as such, because as you mention here, EGS would rather CF wait until the game is closer to Japanese release.

Project Four is also in a sort of limbo state, since you cannot announce it, and from previous posts and Twitter updates, it seems like you're not even sure whether CF will get the final contract in the end.

So, given that Project Three is Fortune Summoners, which has been released for some time (and is mysteriously silent on the patch/update front)...

... what is CF working on right now?

Project Four's completion is still up in the air a bit; there are circumstances surrounding the project that means that it is possible (though at this point, unlikely) that it will not see the light of day.

We're continuing to work on Four until we either get word that the project is scrapped, though.

You might want to reword/confirm that. My brain understand it as "It's unlikely that this project will see the light of day" and I'm sure you meant the opposite (how much sense would it make to clash on an unsure project? If this were not to be released then how long would we had to wait for another game from you guys?)

Derp derp derp I am good with English. Yes, it's unlikely that the project will not see the light of day. It could happen, but Project Four is going to hit, more likely than not.

A little while; whether or not the current Four gets off the ground, Territoire will almost certainly be what we work on next as we don't anticipate it being in development for too much longer. That said, there's probably going to be a longer wait than with our previous games, as both TT and Four are of considerably larger scope than our previous efforts.

(I do intend to make a Blog Postâ„¢ about all this at some point in the near future. For reals!)

Out of interest is there any sort of timeline when you could start talking about #4?

Or is it relying more on when you get a response as to its status from Japan, and you have no clue as to when that will be?

I don't mind which platform the game is on just as long as its not on PS Vita or the Nintendo 3DS. I'm too poor to buy those at the moment.

Actually a Carpe Fulgur release on PSN or XBLA could be intriguing. Though I'd prefer it to be on PC so I can continue my list of Japanese Steam games.

It better be for PC....
While I do have a 360, it would be extremly inconvinient for me to buy anything there (bloody MS points).

Besides, anything other than PC release would question Carpe Fulgur crew's logic (CONSOLES ARE BAD RAH RAH RAH) (unless it's iOS release or something, which would still be weird).

To be honest I'm not that enthused for Project 4, since I seem to remember an old interview with SpaceDrake regarding the type of games being brought over by CF.

When the interviewer mentioned that the games CF has done so far all involve cute anime girls, the response had something about how Project 4 was Completely Different and Not Like That At All.

Which makes me worried, because the only reason I noticed Recettear in the first place is the cute anime girl featured prominently as the player character, and my enjoyment of all CF-released games so far have been predicated on the cuteness.

If Project 4 has no cute, then I may be skipping it altogether.

Wow, really? I had no idea this game would be so different.

While I'll admit I have my biases in favor of cute games. They're not the only games I'll buy. And even just admitting to that has gotten me in trouble in a few anime fora, strangely and sadly enough(though said anime fora had their own jRPG hating kinda anime hating trolls of a sort). I bought Satazius and I do even have some games of course that aren't very Japanese at all, like Terraria and VVVVVV.

If it's remotely related to one of my interests, I'm sure I'll buy it. I do like cute games and female protagonists/characters, though. The video game industry needs more female characters and especially female protagonists. And the PC platform needs more cute characters and also just plain "anime games". Or basically games with the Japanese comic aesthetic.

I'm pretty sure it'll be close enough. Then again, maybe I let go of wallet too easily.

Woah, woah, woah... Wait a minute... Project 4 won't be moe-tastic? This explains the gag order. Afraid we'd all abandon the ship before she sunk!

In all seriousness, though, cute is great and all but CF has failed to choose a bad game to localize yet so I have faith that even if it's not cute, it will be good.

Abandon ship? Heavens no, this has just made me all the more excited~ Different, eh, what could it be? :D

Plus, there's plenty of anime-style games that are indeed anime-ish, or even "cute," without being all big-eyed, pastels, cute voices and all around moe-moe-riffic. :p Take like...Ever17 for example. I wouldn't put that art as "moe" in the same sense of...oh, I don't know, Fortune Summoners or even many anime this season. But it's still cute, right? :D And, like SilentCaay said, CF has picked winners 3 times over, and I've got faith that lightning will strike a 4th time. ;] Can't wait!!

Well, just because its not diabetes doesn't mean it will be dark and gritty.

I'm still holding on hope that project 4 is actually an in-house project titled "SpaceDrake and Robin", where you are tasked with cleaning up Reccity from the evils of pirates, competition and 200 pages of lines that need to be translated.

I see, rather  i think along those lines that the in-house game makes us translate a project wich in all reality is project 5 and spacedrake and robin planted a bug inside the game that transmists the completed translation upon finishing the game

Smart move
TL;DR: We translate project 5 in-game

It would be nice if  Carpe Fulgur was handling the PC version of La-Mulana.
