"Disable sound" option doesn't work
« on: February 11, 2012, 10:09:37 PM »
I'd like to listen to music or podcasts while I backtrack to see if I missed stuff in earlier dungeons, but the "disable sound" option in the launcher only seems to cut out the music. I tried to turn down the sounds in the in-game options but again only the music mutes entirely; even at the lowest settings the voices and sound effects are still very loud.

This is not a huge deal in the end but it's still a bunch of options that basically do nothing.

Sloppy and reflects on the attention to detail. Sadly they have no boss to ask them why that is? Just like the lack of dpad support when they claim full controller support. They have no excuse because they had plenty of time to port it and was delayed to boot. Beyond text translated and playing with options (sound and controller not working as they should) this is pretty edemic of the port with an obvious lack of attention to final product. BTW Capcom can release a patch for SFIV within what 2-3 days?? Let's see how long CarpeFulgur will take their time fixing bugs

Settle down, bro. Posting the same irrelevant rage post in three or four threads won't speed things up.
Carpe Fulgur is not capable of changing the source code of the game by themselves. They only do the translation, no coding capacity there. What they can do is ask the original developers, in this case Lizsoft, to do something about that, but Carpe Fulgur themselves are in no way responsible for programming bugs.
Calling them names for failing to have this fixed just is all kinds of immature, and completely misses the point.

So you admit they aren't about anything more than releasing the same old game with just translated text??? Why release a old game if it doesn't work as it should; the xbox 360 wireless isn't exactly some obscure brand. The mapping if messed up and doesn't work as it should. Also the company does give the impression that they are VERY lax about releasing updates. See if it doesn't take them a a few months to fix this and any other bugs(they already have our money so why should they rush it?). They already prolonged the release date and all they had to do was translate/change some text. Excuse me if they don't give the impression of "taking the money and running".  :-\

Passing the buck does not mean they aren't responsible for fixing a game they are releasing. They are selling a product years after the game was released. It's not too much for anyone to expect them to fix a product they are selling now and not have to wait for them to get off their asses and release updates soon thereafter and not wait months for.

Yeah, so next time translators should ask for the source code as well. This is like fans asking me to rewrite Evangelion after translating it because the fans don't like the way it ends, including redrawing comic frames directly in the author's style. To CF's credit, they DID patch Recettear and Chantelise soon after release because EGS way paying attention, so guess what? CF "does do it when it CAN".

Capcom has a full dev team and its THEIR GAME, so yeah they can patch SFIV within days easily. Valve does this with TF2 too, because they own the code. SquareEnix too, because once again they own the code. CF is a third party, I can't guarantee the same thing for them. Same with Atlus for games that aren't theirs. I warned people about this before right in this very forum, but apparently someone didn't get the memo.

So, should we continue feeding the troll or just leave this as it is? It seems to be pretty obvious he does not understand for the sake of not understanding.
