Low level no equipment run
« on: February 08, 2012, 02:40:10 PM »
I will be attempting a low level no equipment run and I am considering recording this run for purposes of uploading it on youtube.

What difficulty should I play at?

The harder you can handle, the greater the glory.

Though I've no idea what's even possible and what to recommend and why. You could always start from the easiest difficulty and work your way up.

And if you're already up for the task, 'hard' seems a pretty good place to start.

Playing expert here.
So i am recording boss battles for youtube.
No items consumed during boss.
Slow though, at Baby Mage now.

As for OP, i wonder how much harder the run could be without equips and levels.
That would mean a highly crippled team with minimal set of moves.
And travelling would be difficult as enemies should b avoided to prevent leveling.

I was thinking something simple like... not collecting any marks of heroism.  So I'll perpetually be capped at lvl 3.  I can't avoid not lvling up since some enemies are flat out unavoidable, not to mention bosses.  I dunno if this is possible or not, but I'm going to give it a shot soon.  I'll start out at expert.

I beat the game already, so I still can get some special moves from Arche's book of sword skills.  So I'll still have leap thrust and stuff.

Ooo i see, what you mentioned didnt occur to me, am a newbie afterall.
i wld personally prefer a balance between downright challenge and display of finesse via varied skill use, which would be greatly discounted if the moves are not avail. ie to say, it cld b pretty dull to see the same narrow set of moves throughout the play. Expert in itself is rather demanding. Well that's my take. Wonder if i could keep my no-item discipline for bosses ahead.

Good luck with it, but it may be impossible due to monsters having too high defense resulting in you doing 1 damage, not sure though but it seems likely.
No-hit run i dare you!

It's impossible.

Maybe I can do no equipment or no marks of heroism... but I sure as hell can't do both at the same time.  My damage just isn't high enough.

There are a couple of videos of Lv3 runs on NND and Tieba.
I believe the Skillbook in Barness lets Sana learn Forcefield, which would probably help.
