There's plenty of info on Lizsoft @ wiki - maps, exp charts etc.

Try this for where to find gear; use Google Translate
http://www20.atwiki.jp/lizsoft/pages/11.html

For the items from Deluxe, try
http://www20.atwiki.jp/lizsoft/pages/92.html

Having used the codes, I have found that they are like Cinderella's ensemble: temporary.  Upon loading a saved game, they turn back into their original forms.  I also noticed that the code list doesn't have any of the Special Items, though I think that it would be necessary to make altogether new entries, so other important items don't get overwritten.  I also tried turning a sword into a slime bean, and Arche's father won't accept it, so there must be at least two addresses for items:  One to say "it is classified as this particular item", and another to say "It works mechanically like this", for purposes of combat stats or usage.  The code list must be the latter, I think.

Looks like you're right, Sabin! Well, that limits the usefulness of these codes to on-the-spot usable items, like the strongirl juice and other stat-improving items. A bummer for now, but I'm going to mess around with it a bit more and hopefully find the other address as well. Thanks for the heads-up! :)

One of the cool and aggravating bits of trying to hack games is these little discoveries about how things work.  :)

It definitely is! :)

Just found that elusive address; it works like you thought, controlling item class independently from the item type/function code. For example, when a pot's class was changed to 'slime bean', Arche's father accepted that in the help quest, even though it still looked and functioned as a pot for any other purposes.

Also, a pot saved with 'slime bean' class turned into slime bean after reload, meaning that changes in this address are retained after save. So, looks like both of the above-mentioned problems are taken care of. Thanks again for your help! :-)

If you'd like to play around with the stuff, just offset the previous item address by -C to get the new one. Values are a bit of a problem though, as they don't seem to follow any logical order. Ones I've found so far:

Bronze Sword - 110010
Mattress Beater - 111010
Iron Dagger - 112020
Cloth Armor - 120010
Woven Gloves - 140005
Herb - 201010
Venom away - 201020
Menta - 201051
Taiyaki - 201052
Slime Bean - 201053
Honey - 201100
Merrin Gum - 201062

Can you make any sense of this? Feels like trying to solve the Da Vinci code... O_o

(btw. if your addresses shifted and don't have a pointer, you could find Money first, subtract 1FD8 from that address to get the item function address, then subtract C from that to get this new item class address... saves some time until pointers are found.)

Ugh, numbers.  The single worst enemy that I have.  On the pointers, I sometimes use ArtMoney for finding them, since ArtMoney's pointer search is less memory intensive* and not as confusing to use when compared to Cheat Engine.  (Though I bet that Cheat Engine is more powerful, and trainers can be made with it.)

*I don't have enough space on my hard-drive to store Cheat Engine's pointer search, which removes it as an option for me, so I can't compare the effectiveness to ArtMoney.

EDIT:  It is late so I can't investigate further, but maybe items are grouped together by their class?  Try buying a bunch of different swords, and then compare their values after the -C is applied to their address.

Here's an expanded list.  It should be noted that wearing items like Stinger and Black Plate may be a bad idea in the prologue, because it seems like they invalidate saved games.  I am thinking that it is because these items are not part of the demo portion of the game in any proper sense.  I will have to play a bit more with this to figure out how to get around it, but I have noticed that I can boot up savefiles where I haven't yet put on the items.  It is possible that taking these items off before saving could avoid invalidation.

EDIT:  It seems that to advance in quality in an item class, add or remove "10" to the value.  For example, the Rapier is "112080", while the Black Rose is "112090".    I am guessing that the first three numbers of the value is the class of the item(sword, staff, rapier, ect), while the last three numbers determine the quality of that item. (bronze sword, iron sword, ect.)

SWORDS
Bronze Sword
110010

White Sword
110110

Stinger
110120

DAGGERS (Fire mage)
Rapier
112080

Black Rose (Fire Mage)
112090

ACCESSORIES
Saint's Brooch
160050

ARMOR
Chainmail (Arche)
120080

Master Mage's Clothes (Mages)
120100

Black Plate  (Arche)
120110

CAPES
Heroic Cape
150050

Merrin's Cape
150060

Great job, Sabin! Looks like you've got the codes for the best items already. :-)

I can confirm that the savefile gets invalidated in the prologue when the game saves with premium items being worn, but not when they're only in the inventory. (I restored the save from a backup I made, thanks to your advice.)

About the 10 value-interval, yeah many do that, but not all. For example, Merrin Card is 290080 and the Magic Ranger Card is 290085, with nothing in between. And then you get stuff like food, where the interval is only one: Menta-Taiyaki-Slime Bean-Walnut Chocolate-Fresh Milk: 201051-201052-201053-201054-201055
So yeah, it's not totally random, but far from the neat order that would be workable with Excel.

I'd like to get the full list, but it might take a while. Here is what we got so far, in order (including your findings):

Here's some more.

NOTE:  It is possible that Merrin's Cloak isn't the best cape/gauntlet, I need to compare it to other items.  The Heroic Cape has stronger defensive scores, but lacks the MP bonus and spell resistance.

Star Rod
111060

ARCHE'S ULTIMATE GEAR
110120 (Stinger, damage)
110130 (Cheep-Cheep, causes confusion effect)
110140 (Mage Blade, grants extra MP and mental strength)
110150 (Slime Slayer, extra damage against slimes)

120110 (Black Plate)
150060 (Merrin's Cape)
160050 (Saint's Brooch)

SANA'S ULTIMATE GEAR
111070 (Premium Rod, damage)
111080 (Sleep Staff, sleep effect)

120100 (Master Mage's Clothes)*
150060 (Merrin's Cape)
164060 (Silver Rosary)

STELLA'S ULTIMATE GEAR
112090 (Black Rose)
120100 (Master Mage's Clothes)*
150060 (Merrin's Cape)
161040 (Celebrity Ring)

*The Japanese guide mentioned Stella and Sana having an endgame armor, I suspect that it is the Moonfeather Gown, but haven't yet found it.  I tried 120120, which would only erase items.  Either the Moonfeather gown is a lower number in the armor category, or located in an separate area, such as 130XXX in my opinion.

EDIT:  130001, 130005, and 130010 only erase items.  This probably means that there is nothing in the 130000 range.  Maybe the gown is a piece of clothing, not armor?

ITEM CATEGORIES

The first three numbers for an item code dictate the "class", of an item.  Currently known categories are:

110000 (Arche's Weapons)
111000 (Sana's Weapons)
112000 (Stella's Weapons)
120000 (Armor)
140000 (Gloves)
150000 (Capes)
160000 (Accessories)
201000 (Food)
202000 (Stat Boosters)

290000 (Odds & Ends?)
-Underwear, male)

541000 (Clothing? Green Clothes?)
-Green clothes

Nice findings! ^_^ I've added them to the list. (btw. I've also searched 120120, 120130 and 120140, all negative. Perhaps it is in clothes, like you say).

The ultimate gear grouping is quite useful, and the categories will help getting the rest nailed down. Great job! :-) (I'm thinking of updating the original item table with the new values once we got them all - how do you prefer to be credited as? Do you have a site/blog you'd like to have included?)

Looking at the stat boosters, it seems that it is possible for there to be sub-categories.  The first four items occupy 10 through 40, while the HP/MP boosters are 110 and 120 respectively.  I will have to check the armor category and see if 120210 yields the gown.*

202010 (Attack, Power Drop)
202020 (Defense, Tough Drop)
202030 (Spirit, Good Child Drop)
202040 (Guardian Drop)

202110 (HP, Strongirl Juice)
202120 (MP, Mystery Juice)

Judging from your item lists, it seems like that while we have Deluxe equipment with the values we are looking at, there are no Special Items that are associated with that version, such as the Black Ion.  This either means that the actual dungeon and special items are not in the game, or they lie further afield.

PS:  Credit me as Sabin Stargem, as that is my online persona.  I am planning to put together a Newgame+ file that includes all of the endgame equipment, what should I credit you as?

*Nope.  This is one tricky item.  I went ahead and checked with the mechanical effect codes to see how it compares to the master magician's outfit.  The defense is slightly weaker, but it offers more than twice the MP, which is quite handy for mages on a extended trip.

Could be either way, from what I saw today. When looking for item class codes for those special items, I found some gaps where items probably were placed and perhaps removed later. Check it out:

Code: [Select]
Old Key
900002

Stone Tablet 1
900004

Stone Tablet 2
900005

Stone Tablet
900006

Handmade Lunch
900007

Wind Crest 1
900011

Wind Crest 2
900012

Wind Crest 3
900013

Memory Photo 1
991001

It's also possible that the Deluxe special items are in a separate zone - the regular ones I've found here are also in their own zone, separated by 4-5 blanks from the main item list. I guess we'll know eventually.

I am planning to put together a Newgame+ file that includes all of the endgame equipment, what should I credit you as?

Going by SiamJai at most places, you can credit me as such. :-)

Too bad about the gown. I wonder, is it going to be the last item we'll find? :P But some good news: found some reliable pointers at last! They have been stable through multiple sessions during the last couple of days, unlike the previous ones that I've tried so far. It's out of the scope of this thread, but I'm going to send you a PM about it.

(btw, a tip: wrapping these long lists with the 'code' tag here helps prevent the lists from taking over the page. I'm going to format my earlier posts now.)

I put together an readme that is going to be bundled with the savefile.  I will upload the file.  Here is the link, feel free to try it out.  :)

Fortune Summoners - Secret of the Elemental Stone - NG+ savefile, V1
https://sites.google.com/site/sabinstargemsvault/Fortune%20Summoners%20-%20Newgame%2B%20V1.zip?attredirects=0&d=1

Code: [Select]
FORTUNE SUMMONERS: Secret of the Elemental Stone (NG+)

This is a Newgame+ file for the game Fortune Summoners: Secret of the Elemental Stone.  It starts the player at one of the earlier points of the game's prologue, right after the first visit to the mysterious cave.

The features of this savefile is the presence of endgame equipment from Fortune Summoners Deluxe, which is more powerful than you can get in non-deluxe playthroughs.  In addition to this, there are books in the game that can unlock skills earlier, which the player should search for.

You would find these items in the inventory.  Be sure to not sell them unless you don't mind potentially losing access to them.  Below is the list of equipment available.

ARCHE'S ULTIMATE GEAR
110120 (Stinger, damage)
110130 (Cheep-Cheep, causes confusion effect)
110140 (Mage Blade, grants extra MP and mental strength)
110150 (Slime Slayer, extra damage against slimes)

120110 (Black Plate)
150060 (Merrin's Cape)
160050 (Saint's Brooch)

SANA'S ULTIMATE GEAR
111070 (Premium Rod, damage)
111080 (Sleep Staff, sleep effect)

120100 (Master Mage's Clothes)
150060 (Merrin's Cape)
164060 (Silver Rosary)

STELLA'S ULTIMATE GEAR
112090 (Black Rose)
120100 (Master Mage's Clothes)
150060 (Merrin's Cape)
161040 (Celebrity Ring)

ISSUES:  The prologue of the game would invalidate savefiles that have the characters wearing equipment that can't be normally obtained during the prologue.  To get around this, wear equipment while playing the game, and take it off when saving your game.

Hmm, I'd love to try it out, but I can't seem to get it to work. Copied the save file and replaced my own with it, but when I load data from the first saveslot, the inventory has no special items at all (and 428 coins... is that how many it's supposed to have?) Definitely different than my own, so the transfer was successful.

Perhaps the fact that I'm not a Steam user and this file was made in Steam? The CF guys have this to say about transferring save files:
Quote
3) Open the folder with your Fortune Summoners full game install (usually C:\\Program Files\Fortune Summoners\, C:\\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\fortune summoners\ for Steam users).
4) Paste the copied save files into the full version folder (CTRL-V).

Credits are nice btw. - very flattering! :-)
