I finished the game (Spoiler Thread!)
« on: February 01, 2012, 11:02:10 PM »
So I just finished this game and I gotta say, I loved it. I really like the story, the game play and everything else about it. (I still wish I would of been able to find Stella's Red and Black outfit, but I guess she didn't have one.).

I also really hope the sales of this game are enough to push the guy who made it to make a squeal, because he totally set it up for one. The Dark Witch isn't defeated!

I would would also really love to see older, maybe teenage versions of the girls on adventures and helping people like Arche said she wanted to do, because that sounds super neat to me.

I look forward to you're next project Cape Fulgur! May you translate more badass games!

Agreed....a sequel is seriously needed.

I felt like I had just gotten to the half way point of a game when I defeated the last dungeon, so I'm a little disappointed that the game ended at that point.

However I consider it a great game and probably one of the best ones I have bought for the whole year.

Great job Carpe Fulgar!!   I look forward to Territoria and your other future projects.

Also...now that I think about it, why isn't there a sequel for this game?   It was popular enough in Japan to warrant a deluxe edition (with some fairly good vocal star power to boot).

Huh....weird.

So around how many hours does it take to beat the game? Is there anything to do after that? (I loved to farm items in Castlevania series) I've actually bought the game but I don't have time to play it yet.

I can dream :P

Took me around 16 hours according to steam, but a couple of hours probably for the demo too, which I transferred.  I finished at level 20 or 21.  I forget which, since I'm level 24 now.  I too thought that it was far from the end of the game, what with all the loose ends.

Definitely hoping for a sequel.

Just hunting around for photos 5 and 6 now.  I find it amusing that I can find everything except them.  I found a poison knife for Stella as my latest thing.

Though technically, I still need white iron ore, Merrin's staff and whatever else is super rare in those machines.  I hear there is a legendary sword after all.

But seriously, I must have sunk at least 15k into them by now.  Going back and forth selling and buying.

I also just beat the game. But I took my time and thoroughly relished the experience! Mock me if you like, but I've done nothing but play the game the last few days and my game save has over 40 hours put into it.

Did I really just beat the game though? The ending said, "the end?". And the ending gave me the number to the 4 number locked door. I also haven't so much as visited Scotsholm yet. As well, my characters are only level 23. Most games have a level cap at 100, there are very few exceptions to the level 99 or level 100 level cap, one of them being Super Mario RPG. There's also the fact that I didn't even truly defeat the final boss, and the Dark Witch apparently has a demon overlord or something, as well as being saved by someone(a vast conspiracy of sorts seems to be afoot). Not to mention the fact I only just finally activated my elemental stone. Those are evidence to the idea I've only achieved the "first" ending, and there's a huge rest of the game following me, only being 1/4 of the way through the real game.

And yet, I am at the hero's mark limit. I can't level any further. As my stats say, I am at 20/20. Also, if you get the "true" first ending, and continue the game by going though the password protected door, I'm truly stumped for the first time in the whole game. And believe me, I spent a lot of time figuring out some earlier puzzles. But no matter how much I try to explore the door, it seems like a dead end. I haven't found anything there except loads of treasure chests.

If there really is a rest of the game, I sure haven't found it yet. I'm hoping there is a sequel, and soon enough. And it gets translated. I only just got settled into this universe. I need more.

Nope, having worked on the game's content (exhaustively), I can tell you that's the end of the story content. Northern Scotsholm (with places like the royal city of Scotshold) isn't in the game.

And really, the game's essential plot wraps up in the ending. You discover the secret of the stone, you save the school, you resolve Arche's problem with her father. It's a very happy, upbeat ending and a perfectly good place to end the game.

There's just plenty of sequel hooks, that's all. ;)

Hopefully if Lizsoft works on a sequal, you guys can work with Mel from the beginning and we'll get simultaneous release.

Well then, good thing. That means I'm not being horribly stumped by a dungeon smarter than me. It's just a bonus dungeon with a few nice items.

And hear, hear! to Lizsoft making a sequel. I'm absolutely dying to see more. I'm at that spot when I've finished an RPG and have finally gotten absorbed in the world and it's characters, the characters feeling so real and me starting to get attached to them and all the character interaction. And then it's over. And there's nothing more to do but explore and/or repeat the same dialogue. And it feels kinda lonely. I'm gonna miss the characters as I move on to another game and another universe and other fictional characters. I can always replay the game again.

All the more reason people buying this game is a great thing. The more people buy it, the more the creators will be motivated to work on more.

Would anyone be so kind as to tell me where the passcode protected door is as well as what happens once you beat the witch? I accidentally skipped the credits so I don't know what it shows at the end. All I know is the number for my door (which the Class Prez told me before math class), and that after I've saved the game clear data I find myself in Tonkiness with the school still having "statues". Where am I supposed to go? I'm kind of hesitant to wander around the school dungeon again with the chance that the door isn't actually there. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you very much.

They don't tell you where it is. If you explored a lot going through the dungeon the first time, you would have found it. It is right by the first angel/goddess statue, which is several paces West of the first locked machine door to the next area. Thus putting the dungeon at the far Western corner of the dungeon.

Here, it looks like I need to actually make some maps of this game. But given my lack of technical know-how, I'd need to do it by hand and patch loads of screenshots together. Perhaps I should make some quick walkthrough videos since so many people would like an explanation of the dungeons and the like.
I hear there is a legendary sword after all.
There is. I have one. Unfortunately...

Edit: Since you requested it, here is a video of me pretty well heading straight to the bonus dungeon. Only making a stop at the first save angel first. In 240p low quality. But it should get the job done.

480p version.

So it seems. Looks like I haven't explored the dungeon as much as I thought I did before I finished the game. Many, many thanks for the video walkthrough for the location. Maybe I'll try looking around a bit more later on. I'm also thinking that the chests might reset every time I bonk Selene. Worth a shot when I decide to head for the last part of the dungeon once more. Again, thanks for the help. :D

I hear there is a legendary sword after all.

Yep. I have one. The later swords have higher stats, but this one has a sleep attribute. You'll know why when you see it.

I finished at level 20 or 21.  I forget which, since I'm level 24 now.  I too thought that it was far from the end of the game, what with all the loose ends.

How'd you get to level 24? I ended the game at 23 and can't get anymore levels. I know that I haven't reached the exact game cap yet because there's still a single blank space for everyone in the character selection menu for vs battle. O_o

I think that must surely be a typo.

And yeah, I wasn't going to spoil it, but the legendary sword isn't so 'legendary' for that reason.
