Slowdown and crashes
SpaceDrake:
And so I'm back online properly. Feels good, man.
Also, we released a videogame and people seem to be enjoying it. Feels very good, man.
We have, however, also seen a few reports of slowdown, to the point of being crippling, when using the main menu, and also a few scattered reports of crashes during area transitions.
In a way, I kind of wish more people were getting these, because then it'd be easier to at least pin down a cause.
As you may have guessed, we wouldn't release a game with known major issues. Which is to say, we have not only not encountered these problems during testing, but we can't replicate them. At all. Even when a few users reported slowdown during the demo release we couldn't replicate the problem whatsoever, even on very weak netbooks.
So. We need details. We need detailed information on the computer systems you guys are using, we need details on exactly when and how you are getting slowdowns or crashes. If we can't at least detail what the problem is, never mind replicate it, Lizsoft won't be able to attempt a fix of the issue(s).
If you are having problems, you can post your system information in this thread, or mail it to us at support@carpefulgur.com. Please detail what you do before you crash or slow down (how long have you been playing, is there a place in particular you crash, etc.)
We will try and address this, but the fact that we can't replicate it ourselves and the scattershot, apparently not-wide-spread nature of the reports means that fixes may not be extremely swift in coming. Sorry if this is bad news for anyone. :( We'll do our best to make the game work for everyone, though!

I get slowdowns all the time, during conversations, in menus, in combat, simply moving from left to right. Sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn't, however most of my time is spent fighting against the framerate rather than the enemies. There's no rhyme or reason to it. I really wish I could give you details but when the only pattern I recognize is "when the game is running" it is no easy feat. I have tried all launcher settings combinations minus disabling the sound and nothing helps.
I haven't run the game in any compatibility modes yet but I am going to force single core affinity and see if that helps in some way but I honestly doubt it will.
EDIT: From post below:

I did import my save from the demo. I will reinstall the game without importing to see if that helps! Fingers crossed!
SilentCaay:
Maybe it's weird or maybe it's something you guys did or maybe it's an option I changed but I got really weird framerates while in menus when I played the demo but since I bought the full game I haven't noticed any framerate drops. I didn't carry my settings over from the demo, though, so I'm not sure if I set it up exactly the same. There's not all that many options, however.
As for my system and options, I'm running Win XP SP3 and the launcher settings are at Fullscreen, High Graphics and Normal VRAM.
Naryoril:
so far i have closed the game twice, i have only been in the options. but when closing the game, it crashes. not a dealbreaker but still not nice.
And there is a typo:
"i'v never seen anyone, especially i kid, using a both a sword AND magic", the first "a" is too much
and the game doesn't work with my arcade stick, which is an XBox contoller, it doesn't seem to recognize it. It's a Hori Real Arcade Pro SE. Fortunately i have XPadder and i can just map the buttons to keyboard keys and play like that.
If you need more information on any of the issues please let me know.
StarCreator:
I haven't yet had a chance to try the game out, but I remember reading somewhere or another that the game really doesn't like it when you turn the VRAM setting above Normal. That might be a good starting point to check for a lot of people having issues.
