CF Games > Fortune Summoners: Secret of the Elemental Stone
A pleasant surprise!

Pastabasta:
Hello everyone at Carpe Fulgur and hello to the community as well!
I am new to the site, and also recently discovered the games you bring to the western/european public.
I never really played any of your games when they launched and was reluctant to try your new game: Fortune Summoners (due to personal taste reasons) but having friends who recommended Recettear and A Tale of Two Sisters, I decided to hop aboard and try the demo for the upcoming game.
Man, was I wrong in doubting this one! What hit me over the head like a truck was the amazing combat system. I was just idly walking around the house, helping my folks with the move when all of the sudden AMAZING RESPONSIVE FLEXIBLE COMBO BASED COMBAT! Needless to say, I spent over 10 minutes just hitting thin air, enjoying the fresh 2D combat mechanics.
I guess what it boils down to is saying a big 'THANK YOU!' for bringing this game to our shores, because without you, I would't have found it on my own!
I wish you the best of luck on your future projects and I assure you I am tagging along for the ride (Gave the Recettear demo a try and that's one fantastic gem of a game right there which I will buy soon.)

Glad it wasn't just me then; I love the fluid fighting.

I also love that fighting system, but I already fear the rage threads in the Steam forum :)
Ataru:
I keep wanting to tell people 'just play better' and then I remember that I was told the exact same thing when I complained about the ear-rending low health noise on Chantelise and how pissed off I was at being told that.
But yeah the combat system is super fun once you get a handle on it. I loved freezing then air-juggling the boss. Actually any game where you can air-juggle with combos is a winner in my book.
RenaTheArchmage:
Admittedly, the combat system really was a pain in the neck to get used to. But once I got a feel for it, it became absurdly fun.
I would say that finally figuring it out was the thing that pushed it into "Buy" territory.
