Yes, it seems odd that certain items will stack yet the very same items obtained in a different way don't stack.

I don't think it's a case of item stacking - it's more like the games where you might pick up a potion bottle with five doses, but the shop only sells single-dose bottles of the same thing. They're separate items of different size.

Realistically, you ought to be able to refill bottles and combine bunches of herbs, but I guess that wouldn't be a very interesting way to spend your gaming time...

Those aren't stacks - the herbs you find in treasure chests are multi-use. I imagine that purchasable multi-use herbs may be one of the shop upgrades that you can get by completing quests for Arche's father in the full game.

Darn...In that case no more buying herbs unless they're the multi-use ones ._.

So I was playing for a couple hours and man did those menu screens get really, really laggy.  I quit the game and played on low settings and it ran fine then played with high settings and it still ran fine.  Setting VRAM to max made it rather jittery though.

Anyway, I was getting very laggy menu screens with fullscreen/high graphics/normal VRAM, although now I cannot reproduce it.  Maybe it only stutters after long playtime or maybe I just had an unlucky session.

This. I have the same exact problem. Menus and dialogue boxes become so laggy the game becomes next to unplayable. I have to press Z, X, or C 15 or 20 times before the game will move onto the next one or two sentence chunk of dialogue. Trying to navigate menus and equip something can easily take 2 or 3 minutes.

I can reproduce it though. Playing on high graphics and normal VRAM. It happens in windowed or full screen mode. It works fine at first but then as the game goes on the menus start to go at a crawl.

I have AMD Dual Core Processor 3.0 GHz, 8 gigs of ram, with a NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT on Vista 64 bit. It's not the most powerful machine but I can play Shogun 2 on high at 30 to 40 fps.

Sounds like a memory leak issue. Maybe just try checking task manager and see how much RAM is FS eating up?

Not really major errors but here are some things I run into with the demo:

- the sidebar in the manual uses normal text to show bullets for list items, but it doesn't force shift_JIS charset - with the usual European/UTF-8 it shows the letter "E" instead (or something weirder in UTF)

- after using a gamepad for some time I started having a strange problem - whenever Sana was the active character she would start casting spells on most key presses (even with the gamepad disconnected) only resetting gamepad settings to default solved this problem; I might have corrupted the settings file by alt-tabbing out of the full-screen mode (which on my system crashes the game with a "surface load error" - though this is hardly rare for games)

For the record, this works just fine under Wine (though if winetricks dmusic / dmsynth was used on the prefix, audio has to be disabled to prevent a crash in gstreamer). Will be acquiring the full game when it's out.
