Comiket 81 grabs of EasyGameStation
« on: January 02, 2012, 06:03:06 AM »
So I got my hands on these beautiful pieces at the comiket.
http://img839.imageshack.us/img839/4569/cimg3786.jpg

I wondered if those games will also get released by Carpe Fulgur, and possibly get on Steam. Anyone got a clue?
So far I didnt get a chance to play them though, as I only have little time to spare inside an internet cafe in Tokyo.
As for Territoire, there was only the Trial version. I asked at the booth if only the trial version is available, and if he knows when exactly the full version it going to be released. But he couldnt say much information, other than that only the trial version is available as of now.

Also, Bloodvane is made by Platine Dispositif, the makers of the Gundemonium Collection (which was also available at C81). I tried it, bloody good game, and unforgiving.

I couldnt get every single of the (new) games of EasyGameStation though, as I was lacking the money at that time.

Imageshack redirects me to "Blocked Login", despite the usual attempts to bypass that (copy-and-paste into address bar, hard refresh, different browsers). Mind uploading this to another imagehost? (Imgur or Min.us, possibly.)

ElePaperAction is, sadly, based on the Read Or Die franchise (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Read_Or_Die) and the rights to the IP would be prohibitively expensive compared to what we'd expect the game to earn. Plus, it's even older than Chantelise and this has a number of rough edges; I'm not sure even EGS would be that keen on licensing it out.

Mail Angel?... well, something might happen with that. Our slate for 2012 currently looks pretty full, but you never know! Of course, we've also heard on the grapevine that another company might be releasing it, though we've yet to see any fruits of that particular labor...

And yes, what was released Territoire-wise at C81 was the "Version 2.5" demo. It features a few new characters and a lot of mechanics updates. We still don't have a solid date for TT, but I really suspect we're in the final push and that EGS will try to have it out some time this year.

As for Bloodvane, Platine Dispotif is really close to Rockin' Android, so I would suspect they already have the rights sewn up for that one.

Good to hear but we want details :)

joking aside, it would be nice to know what comes after FS. Since it can not be Territoire I'm curious ?

Huzzah! Thanks for the info.
I was already wondering if ElePaperAction was licensed at all..

Really hope "Delivery Angel" (lol) will get worked up by you guys.
Also pretty excited about Bloodvane possibly getting a steam release (I guess?). I love the fact that all these games gain such big attention simply by being on Steam. Giving little companies a big opportunity to shine brightly among the overpriced 3-hour-long "newgen" games.

Here you go.

Thanks.

I'm... trying to figure out what's happening in the background of the Territoire disc. Is that a wolf-person eating a hunk of meat, or are they chewing on their own gloves?

It seems very likely that Rockin' Andoid has the rights to that based on an interview with Sara Leen:

We’ve also got something coming up from EGS ourselves, actually.

Frankly, I don't see any other game of EasyGameStation's that they could be talking about.

Gunners Heart http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wnHdBvh4qNY could be possible and would also fit RA's Shmup orientation.

Pretty sure that wolf person is nomming a big piece of meat.

I dont really see that being mentioned in the interview. You think Rockin Android would do an EasyGameStation game, when we have Carpe Fulgur?

That’s a very good question, too. I would recommend EasyGameStation’s games pretty heavily, although Carpe Fulgur has a good relationship with EasyGameStation and I’d expect to see many of their games reach the U.S. in the long run. We’ve also got something coming up from EGS ourselves, actually.

It may simply be the case that Carpe Fulgur wasn't interested in the game for some reason.

Carpe Fulgur hasn't leaned towards SHMUPs for a pretty good reason: there's not often a lot of reason to translate, on average they're not heavy on story and dialogue which NEED the CF treatment .

As soon as I saw Anita King on the cover, my heart leapt.

Now, I am sweeping the remnants off the floor. Thank you, SpaceDrake. Thank you for crushing my dreams with your damned LOGIC and REALISTIC FINANCES.

Wow, I'm jealous, those look adorable. I want them on my shelf. If only tickets to Japan didn't tend to cost $1,000.

Well, it sounds like it's at least always possible someday to get them through Carpe Fulgur on nice old reliable Steam.

We just have to keep throwing our money at them.

I loved the Read or Die anime, by the way. The plot was a little bit zany, but still fascinating. It was also cool for an anime to start Chinese characters for a change. It may not be feasible for Carpe Fulgur to localize it, but the idea of playing a game related to R.O.D. sounds like loads of fun. I'm plenty jealous.

All right, that's 4 more games added to my "things I must own before I die" list. Thank you.
