Recette looked up, startled, when the shop's door was ripped suddenly open.  A woman carrying a brown package marched inside, her head high, cheeks flushed, and eyes flashing angrily.  Recette smiled, wanting to be a bright spot in the woman's day.

Welcome! Can I he-"

"I found THIS while cleaning my husband's things!"

Glaring at Recette, the woman slammed the package down onto the counter.  Recette jumped, then looked into the box.  Lying inside was a cherry.

I woman came in and said she has a beef bowl to sell me which she found while cleaning the basement.

So I bought it at 1/2 base price. :D

Next day there was a newsflash saying that there had been a think tank set up to look into food hygiene standards!

Do people ever show up with equippable items?  All I've seen are food, books, and treasures (if I see one more !@#$ unthankful statue...), which is kind of strange seeing the setting is supposed to be a town that's an adventurers hub.  No wonder Louie and Elan are so poor if all they find on their dungeon runs are apples and bread.

Dirty old man... If you noticed the shop is overrun with old men...

Poor Recette, she has to deal with this kind of characters...

But why people sell me stew they find while they clean up the house...

<<

Selling people an unwrapped bar of chocolate that's been sitting around in a dungeon for some years is hardly any better.

Recettear is set in a period before health inspectors were commissioned.  No wonder the standard market value for Powerful Antivenom is so high.

I had a young man sell me a “Champion Glove” recently, so yeah, they do.

I've been in retail for twelve years... I've had to deal with many of that type of character, and loads of types that were worse.

Remember that the next time you get irked at a cashier's mistakes- chances are they've had a long line of people you don't want to meet.

This made me sad. Mainly because the best thing I ever got was the very odd vase.

Also, this game's very educational. It shows us perfectly how far will people go into making themselves look stupid, just to sell something with profit <regarding all the housewives finding bread when cleaning up an then telling me that 50% of its value is too little>

Customer 1: Girl. "I'd like to buy this Beef Bowl"
Customer 2: Girl. "Mom told me to sell this Beef Bowl"
Customer 3: Girl. "Do you have any food?"
