Hmm, manuals. I can still remember the Homeworld one... Or the Baldur's Gate manual, which was basically just a slightly modified version of the AD&D players handbook, if I remember right.
But now people can't even be bothered with them anymore. While I guess it's true that the role it played has been mostly taken over by in-game tutorials and the like, and there's this whole environmentally friendly thing going on, it's still a shame. It's gotten so bad, I actually saw someone post a comment on the Elder Scrolls forum a couple of days ago that praised the Skyrim manual for being so in-depth... I think a small part of me died that day. *sigh* Functional, sure. But just barely. (No offense to the Bethesda dev in here :p The game itself is a marvelous piece of art.)
Anyway, to not completely derail the tread: can't wait to try the demo. I'm generally absolutely horrible at these type of games, but it should make for an interesting change of pace.
