Problem with selling items to Griff

I'm always amused that most of the times this issue comes up (or at least when I notice it), the item that Griff refuses to part with is his pair of Summer Sandals.

You would think that he would hate those... they don't exactly scream "Griff".

Now "Demonic Boots of Everlasting Darkness" sounds a bit more Griff-like...

Perhaps Griff is secretly The Dude/Lebowski

That stance looks familiar.
And from what I'm seeing on FS gameplay videos, defending is actually a viable tactic, as opposed to many other games like it where you could just press attack button all the time and get away with it.

That's kind of scarily fitting when you realise the professional voice actor for Arche voiced Furude Rika from Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni (An anime/game series that I will recommend to erryone.)
