My crash problem.
« on: December 23, 2011, 12:47:38 AM »
I finally got a credit card, so I bought this game while it was 1/2 off on Steam. My first thing ever on the internet. After beating through the Demo, I decided this over MineCraft... Yesterday.

Anyway, It worked perfectly fine in the Demo. Carried over the save, had a small problem with the sound (Permissions). For some reason When I venture into a dungeon, It crashes, Around the 3rd or 4Th floor(Once in the second). I've been recording what I as doing to see what triggered it, And its basically randomly done in the dungeons, Nowhere else. I tried both Jade Forest and the First Area, both crash. Is there any reason for this?

Note: I am Using Windows 7.

As a start to the troubleshooting, are you sure your graphics drivers are up to date and whatnot?

Also, what kind of crash are you getting? A report of "stopped working" or what?

Yes, I played through the first 2 dungeons just fine on the demo got to the red door, ect. It started on the full game. It only happens in the dungeons, I went a day just buying in the market and selling that.

The crash happens most times around the 3 or 4th floor.
The game pauses, the music will either skip or stop entirely.
After 3 - 5 seconds, the 'Stop Working" Error would pop up.

Hmmmm, it's... very strange that the demo isn't crashing but the full version is. Mind if I ask what kind of sound hardware your computer has, assuming you know? Sound chip on the motherboard, dedicated sound card, etc?

Also, have you tried verifying integrity of your game files? (Go to Steam library, right-click the game's name, select "properties", the "local files" tab, and then "verify integrity of game cache".)

I hope we can sort this out, I'd hate for you to buy a product of ours as your first internet purchase ever only to have it not work. :(

Wait. Laptop. Uh... can you provide the full specifications for your laptop? I'd like to be sure your machine really can run the game. :x

(It still should've caught on the demo, but I'm curious.)

Ok, Im assuming its a graphic problem. Now Insted of crashing, when switching floors 3 - 4 or 5, a small error box will come up full of gibberish. And the monsters/characters - Like Charme (During Chats. they will be big white boxes.) will turn into grey boxes. It happens after a few mins in the game (Maybe during a dungeon run, or up to 2 game days), and can happen anywhere now... I turned down some settings but it doesn't make a difference.

After the boxes come up, the game loads forever at a loading screen.

I swear to god this sounds like you're getting a file corruption issue or something, somehow, despite you saying you've verified all your files - those "gibberish messages" are likely error messages in Japanese so obscure that we never bothered to translate them. :x

Are you certain your graphics drivers are up to date? How much RAM does your machine have, and how much is dedicated to video (if you know)?

A GF6100 Go should be enough to run the game, barely.
