[OT] Gundemonium on Steam
« on: August 24, 2011, 02:11:37 PM »
As title says, I just found the following STEAM store page http://store.steampowered.com/app/901734/?snr=1_4_4__13 . Yeah, more japanese goodies on STEAM. I'm wondering if the sucess of Recettear has something to do with this. Well, I know what I will play until CF's releases Fortune Summoners ^^

I am pretty goddamn pleased to see this, no lie. I'll be curious to see how it does.

That's good news indeed!  :o
I was going to suggest about translate PlatineDispositif works, but as they got already localized, then I don't know if it's a good idea now :P But still, have you thought about translate Bunny Must Die?

It's a pretty fun game, so I hope you could consider it.

PS: Thanks for your amazing job! :3

Good to hear. I was kinda worried that you wouldn't like to see advertisement to a another game/company in that board. (I would like to see an OT froum on this board)

And yeah, Bunny Must Die/Chelsea and the 7 devils is a really good Metroidvania game.

Totally not my kind of game (bullet hell) but I may get it just for the hell of it.

Wish they'd throw out a Demo though.

The only Side-scrolling shooters I've ever enjoyed were SNES games Super R-Type and Super Aleste.
It's nice to be important but it's more important to be nice.

Mmm, never much been into the bullet hells, will probably pass on this for now, cute graphics aside. Will pick it up on a sale some months in the future, I imagine. But yeah, very exciting to see it on Steam!

I hear at the Cons that lots of people are looking into localization and several have projects underway. Or are making their own original anime/manga games! It's really very exciting. Recettear doing so well on Steam really made it all look financially viable, of course. It makes even some of the lesser Cons lots of fun to go to. Everybody has a garage project! Haven't felt this much energy in the scene since the days everybody was trading VHS tapes!

Personally, in the homebrew/indie genre, I like some of the Hanako Games and Winter Wolves animesque titles. Cute.

Anyway, I expect we'll see many more releases over the next couple of years. It's a great time to be a video game player. Steam sure has been picking up more indie titles recently, which is also good, eh?

Achron just came out -- something I've been looking forward to. Not an anime/manga title. It's a time-travel based RTS.

Cheers,
-mra

Tried the demo, they're okay, but the side-scrolling nature is... meh. I might get the top down vertical one. Maybe.

I think I'll stick with the TH series if I need bullet hell, to be honest.

I especially like the side-scrolling ones.

All 3 have some creative mechanics for Bullet Hell shooter.

I especially like the side-scrolling ones.

I prefer horis too.  There's a reason modern monitors and TVs are widescreen and not "tall screen."  Our fields of vision are wider than they are tall.

There is new music, but I don't know if the new music was also included in the original PS3 game (but you can find some of the new tracks on youtube, search for Gundemonium arranged and compare), Gundeadligne has online multiplayer and the game is uncensored  ^^.

The new music is unique to the Steam version.
