A post from SpaceDrake from the somethingawful forums:

Quote
Oh, before I go to bed

~"Adventurers (not) Equipping Accessories Sold To Them" glitch fixed internally and ready for deployment on launch day~

Much like the fix to the d-pads, this will be pushed out to the demo as well... at some point.

There goes my theory xP.

Someone checked the Japanese wiki, and the Japanese version had the same bug. It's entirely possible that it was a bug that was overlooked by the Japanese devs and was just accepted as an intended game mechanic. The way it worked could have very easily been either, so it's cool that we will be able to fully upgrade adventurers by selling stuff to them, but it was entirely reasonable to view the current demo functionality as a normal game mechanic.

This should be added to the item list:

"Pirate's Blade: Arr, matey. This fearsome blade has claimed the heads of more than a few ship captains, as well as game developers.(PRFT-20.00)"

---Thanks for playing, and better luck next time.. One day ban for software piracy, unless you're a reviewer, in which case you probably should say something. -BlondRobin

No it should not, because I don't accept submissions from the japanese version, pirates or datamining. You did not get a level ~5 fusion in the demo, and you will not be playing the full version for another 11 hours.

^Thanks, BlondRobin. Added a very obvious note about piracy to the spreadsheet.

My FAQ and spreadsheet have been abandoned. Please refer to Blackguard's Recettear page instead.

Hey guys, first post but I've been lurking these forums the past few days. So I have a question and I figured I'd ask it here, Does the reputation of customers reset on new loops or does it stay the same?

First post. Great game! Got it from Steam.

Also, sorry if this question has been asked before, but what is metal? My customers keep asking for it.

I'm guessing they want armor.  It's the only thing that makes sense to me.

@Doniazade:  You've had Crystal Sword in your list since Recettear was first announced on Steam.  I'm reasonably certain that's not obtainable in the demo through legitimate means(I, personally, never found better than the Steel Sword and I had to buy that).  Though, you can unlock all items in the demo through non-standard methods.  As for pirating it and unlocking that sword in time to make that post, I'm not sure that's even possible.  I don't think the pirated version was even released by the time he posted that.  I'm not trying to promote piracy.  I just don't see how anyone could pirate it and unlock the ultimate weapon before even the pirate release was made.  It's all moot now either way, since it officially released several hours ago.

While I never found the crystal sword in the demo, I did find silver armor and other awesome equips in Jade Way.  Good equips can be found in the demo, they're just super rare, and since Doniazade consistently finished the demo with over 100k pix, I assume he (she?) found a loooot of stuff from dungeon diving :]

I was just pointing out the hypocrisy of stating you wont include items that aren't in the demo while including an item that isn't found in the demo.

I noticed that the drops got way better in the official game than it was in the demo.  I was lucky to find Iron Armor in the demo but suddenly Silver stuff drops on my first run of The Jade Way.

I feel like an idiot.

Speaking of feeling like an idiot, what exactly are cold weather clothes? I tried some robes before...

I haven't gotten that request yet, but these possibilities come to mind: Windbreaker, Raincoat, Thick Robe, or any of the mufflers.

I believe my Thankful Statue was priced high due to a precious metal shortage. Might wanna try that. (The broken version wasn't priced high btw, only the unbroken statue.)

I got an order for rings and it shows in the list as metal items.  So, maybe that's it?

Edit: Weird, I'm sure he asked for rings but that didn't work.

Huh, after a shit ton of trial and error I finally got this guy to accept two Knight's Blades as "metal things". I'm going to now go through my entire inventory with Knight's Blade/X to figure out what's metal and what's not. Thankful Statue isn't. I'll report back in a few.

PASS List (Knight's Blade +)
 + Knight's Blade
 + Steel Sword
 + Pure Edge
 + Worn Sword
 + Steel Gauntlet
 + Steel Breastplate
 + Magnet Necklace

FAIL List (Knight's Blade +)
 + Gilded Sword
 + Thankful Statue
 + Silver Gauntlet
 + Golden Pedestal

Okay, uh, I can't be bothered doing any more, but I originally wanted to say "go with weapons" but both Gilded Sword and a Silver Gauntlet both fail. Golden Pedestal and Thankful Statue both fail, while random shit from other categories pass. I'm just going to stock up on a ton of Worn Swords and use them as metal fodder whenever people ask.

Metal items just lowered price for me so I can add a few to the list:

Metal:
Common Shield
Big Shield
Knight Shield
Iron Armband
Spiked Armband
Strongarm Band
Warrior's Helm
Parade Helm
Standard Charm
Popular Charm
Magnet Necklace
Hard Boots
Pretty Wand
Longbow
Iron Spear
Grand Naginata
Steel Breastplate
Iron Armor
Parade Armor

Not Metal:
Wooden Shield
Wooden Armband
Wooden Helm
Silver Helm
Souvenir Charm
Sand Charm
Practice Lance
Laundry Pole

The general rule seems to be any item that's made out of a non-precious metal (no silver or gold) or has metal parts.

The guy above me has this done right. Anything that isn't considered a precious metal (Silver, Gold, Platinum) but is still shiny, silver, and usually sharp, is metal. It's interesting to note that the Crystal Sword is not a precious metal nor a metal, I think it's considered some sort of jewelry or something.
