Territoire

This is a topic for Territoire.  Discuss.
Yes, really.  There's no topic for it yet.

I don't know anything about it though, so I have a hard time starting a discussion.
This is a strategy game by EasyGameStation (makers of Recettear).  It has anime-styled characters similar to Recettear and all EGS games.  What I don't know about is the gameplay.  I couldn't glean much from watching a video on EGS' site.

Can someone tell me where / how I can download the Japanese demo for Territoire?  I know a little Japanese but my skill leaves a lot to be desired.

I expect the main character called Terry and the secondary one (an elf?) called Toire :D

The enemies, at least on the video, looks like the ones used in Chantelise and Recettear. So the slimes, flying bat-shaped eyed, those silly cobolds, and maybe those ugly looking knights but I hope not.

So I'm guessing it's going to be released at C79?

Definitely adding that to my watch list then. After playing the demo I can't find words to express how awesome the translation work was. The last localization from Japanese I saw which seemed to convey the spirit of the original so strongly was Mother 3... ^_^

Gameplay sounds very unique. Alas, I do not have knowledge enough of Japanese, so I will have problems playing it...for now.

So, I've tried the demo. Got through it except for the last mission, with the use of my minimal language skills and a guide. I can't say much about the game's quality while I only have a vague idea of most of the game's working, but the concept itself is interesting, at the very least.

First off, the art style is less loli-oriented this time around, so it doesn't actively bother me. The game borrows heavily from Final Fantasy Tactics in audiovisual design in parts, which I greatly approve of.
It's kind of weird for me to compare this game to Civilization, considering there hasn't actually been a Civ game I played for more than a handful of turns, but that's what this game seems like. You build towns, produce units and structures from them, and research various technologies. Units are given a bit more attention here, though. They can carry usable items, gain levels, use various special skills, and join into groups of three. The group mechanic sort-of reminds me of Ogre Battle, which could be considered the granddaddy of FF Tactics.

Also, maybe it's due to my limited understanding, but I didn't see any hotkeys for many of the features it'd be useful for, which was kind of annoying.

*sadface*

Well, at least it still looks cute enough from the screenshots.

Is someone localizing this already?  If not its definately a must snatch for Carpe Fulgur.  The demo was very fun and I've love to know whats going on with a full version of the game!

No, it's not even finished yet.

The full game isnt out yet in Japan?  Oh I thought it was already.  Still this is a good game to localize when it is finished.

In my opinion, Territoire and Fortune Summoners are the most fitting games to follow up Recettear.
