Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale / Item categories

When customers ask you for stuff like "rare" or "fancy", how should I decide what item to put up? Once, I got a request asking for "metal" items, so I put up a Silver Gauntlet (whose description ACTUALLY indicated that the item was made of metal), and was turned down. I also got a request for "fancy", so I put up an Imperial Cape (which can apparently be "for show" and thus fancy) and was again turned down. I was then asked for "something rare" and put up a Santa Hat just for kicks because I didn't know what was rare or not and it actually got accepted. Also, a request for "precious things" got turned down when I offered pretty much the most expensive item in my possession, a Pandora Arm. How am I supposed to tell what customers want when their requests are either extremely vague or contradictory?

I'd love a diet like that... but would it be effective?

Also, Andrew, is it intentional that your forum title is missing a comma? Because as it stands, it looks more Recette's rapper name; The Capatalism-Ho.

Man, where is a picture of a pimp hat and a copy of photoshop when you need it.

That's strange, because I killed 300+ of them and they were still hitting me for 1-2 damage. Even though they were level 99.

When using Arma, is there any way to force a reload other than to shoot a wall for 3 seconds?

When I see a Roper, another one somehow spawns behind me and attacks me, and gives almost no experience. Is this intended? Neither Tear nor Recette seem to even mention it...

On a level where everything seems to hit 20-30 damage on me, Will-o-wisps touch me for an impressive 1 or 2 damage. Why is this?

Is it best to keep Arma at a low level so that I get the most free cannon shots out of her?

How do I obtain the "Null-Parts" weapon? Do I really have to get it from a customer? If so, how rare is it?

Does the Slime King boss in the Crystal Nightmare boss rush drop anything? I made a list of items and what bosses drop them, but they haven't given me anything apart from Slime Stones or Livers yet.

Thanks in advance.

Dammit. At least it gives me an excuse to farm Will-o-Wisps for Salamander Scales. Thanks.

So apparently I need emblems for a bunch of the high level fusions. I read somewhere that they drop from Knight monsters in the Crystal dungeon. Is this true?

Also, is it possible to farm "The Gauntlet" boss encounter in the Crystal boss rush for such items? Do the Knights there drop emblems?

Finally managed to do it :D thanks for the help guys

First image is me getting my ass kicked, second image is where I found that if Arma walks along a wall parallel to it, you can hold down your cone of death attack and hit her 6-10 times if you're lucky, since every time she gets up, she'll usually continue walking along the wall which sets her up for more hits. Got to pay attention in case she manages to break out though :(

Third image is a picture of me winning using said tactic for a good ~1/3 of her hp :D thanks again guys

Oh, nice. I read it a little and it helped me quite a bit. What should I use to attack diagonally though? I'm assuming that Zapper is implicitly out of the question since it only attacks vertically or horizontally to Caillou, and that's what I've been spamming, so... is there a better alternative? The guide you posted isn't too specific on attacks.

I've recently tried conquering the Lapis dungeon with Caillou, but Arma always beats my face in with little to no effort. What can I do to defeat her? Or should I use another character for the rest of my game like Griff or something? Caillou seems to do pretty badly on those humanoid bosses, but I definitely can't complain about his awesomeness on regular ones.
