Fortune Summoners: Secret of the Elemental Stone / Re: Item list?
« on: May 24, 2012, 08:35:00 PM »
As for the Merrin's Staff and Legendary Sword, I've got both of those so I can find those pretty quickly. I'll do a bulk search to find that Moonfeather Robe you're all struggling to find too.

Thank you Miraglyth, awesome work again! ^_^

I've added those new codes to the list and filled in the rest of the missing normal itemcodes too. And with that, the list is complete and publishable, so here it is again. Great feeling to see it finally coming together! :)

Regarding the appearance and class codes, you are right. A single set of codes will keep it as simple and beginner-friendly as possible, however. Also in that spirit, I've included a 9-step instruction list and a cheat table for the inventory.

Credits to you and Sabin are both in the blogpost and in the cheat table notes. Thank you very much guys, it was a blast! ^_^

Awesome work, Miraglyth! Everything you've uncovered here has been added to the list, making it almost complete! ^_^ Only 24 out of the 171 items lack addresses for their class now. Sadly these include Merrin's Staff, the Legendary Sword and the ever-so-elusive Moonfeather Robe, but I'm sure they'll eventually be found! I'm going to mess around tonight and see how many of these can I get done.

So to recap, below is a list of everything we know so far, organized by item class codes where available. Unknown items are on the bottom, organized by function codes.

Speaking of which, although we have function codes for every item already, they are often not in a logical order, don't carry over with save, and they even permanently change neighboring items. (Thanks to Miraglyth again, for pointing this out over at the blog). So, considering all that, I think we could safely leave out these function codes from the final version of the table, since the class addresses achieve the same thing without any of the above drawbacks, they just need save/reload to take effect. What do you think?

I'm not too happy with Recall Lamps only appearing when you get to the catacombs

FAQs say that Recall Lamps appear in Korat first (item shop).

Many valid points there, as far as I can tell. However they don't bother me much tbh.

Enemy AI being smarter than party AI is quite common in single-player games, because your party has brightest "AI" of the entire gameworld: you. The enemy AI won't use terrain to their advantage, won't deviate from a set path, won't equip any items nor devise new tactics to replace preset ones when the situation calls for it. The player however, can do all those things and more, so to account for this and balance it out, the rest of your team is 'dumbed down'.

Nice job!

Hmm, I'd love to try it out, but I can't seem to get it to work. Copied the save file and replaced my own with it, but when I load data from the first saveslot, the inventory has no special items at all (and 428 coins... is that how many it's supposed to have?) Definitely different than my own, so the transfer was successful.

Perhaps the fact that I'm not a Steam user and this file was made in Steam? The CF guys have this to say about transferring save files:
Quote
3) Open the folder with your Fortune Summoners full game install (usually C:\\Program Files\Fortune Summoners\, C:\\Program Files\Steam\steamapps\common\fortune summoners\ for Steam users).
4) Paste the copied save files into the full version folder (CTRL-V).

Credits are nice btw. - very flattering! :-)

Judging from your item lists, it seems like that while we have Deluxe equipment with the values we are looking at, there are no Special Items that are associated with that version, such as the Black Ion.  This either means that the actual dungeon and special items are not in the game, or they lie further afield.

Could be either way, from what I saw today. When looking for item class codes for those special items, I found some gaps where items probably were placed and perhaps removed later. Check it out:

Code: [Select]

It's also possible that the Deluxe special items are in a separate zone - the regular ones I've found here are also in their own zone, separated by 4-5 blanks from the main item list. I guess we'll know eventually.

I am planning to put together a Newgame+ file that includes all of the endgame equipment, what should I credit you as?

Going by SiamJai at most places, you can credit me as such. :-)

Too bad about the gown. I wonder, is it going to be the last item we'll find? :P But some good news: found some reliable pointers at last! They have been stable through multiple sessions during the last couple of days, unlike the previous ones that I've tried so far. It's out of the scope of this thread, but I'm going to send you a PM about it.

(btw, a tip: wrapping these long lists with the 'code' tag here helps prevent the lists from taking over the page. I'm going to format my earlier posts now.)

The item class codes I don't know yet. The address is the same (or rather, any one of the standard item addresses, which increase by the interval of 10. Ie. to proceed from item1 to item2, add 10 to the address.)

Nice findings! ^_^ I've added them to the list. (btw. I've also searched 120120, 120130 and 120140, all negative. Perhaps it is in clothes, like you say).

The ultimate gear grouping is quite useful, and the categories will help getting the rest nailed down. Great job! :-) (I'm thinking of updating the original item table with the new values once we got them all - how do you prefer to be credited as? Do you have a site/blog you'd like to have included?)

Great job, Sabin! Looks like you've got the codes for the best items already. :-)

I can confirm that the savefile gets invalidated in the prologue when the game saves with premium items being worn, but not when they're only in the inventory. (I restored the save from a backup I made, thanks to your advice.)

About the 10 value-interval, yeah many do that, but not all. For example, Merrin Card is 290080 and the Magic Ranger Card is 290085, with nothing in between. And then you get stuff like food, where the interval is only one: Menta-Taiyaki-Slime Bean-Walnut Chocolate-Fresh Milk: 201051-201052-201053-201054-201055
So yeah, it's not totally random, but far from the neat order that would be workable with Excel.

I'd like to get the full list, but it might take a while. Here is what we got so far, in order (including your findings):

Incidentally, are you doing your recording with integrated audio?

Yes, and perhaps the worst kind: one on a laptop. It's just a headphone jack out from my keyboard into the laptop's mic input. When on a real piano, it's a mic pointed in the general direction of the piano and plugged into the same laptop mic input. In other words, as amateurish as it can get. :) I clean up the raw audio with Cool Edit Pro (predecessor of Adobe Audition). Perhaps this is one part where I could do a better job.

Good points about asking the pros - perhaps I'll do it then, but I want to make sure I tried all I could beforehand.

Thanks again for the advice! :-)

Happens with all of us... ;)

On that note, the page that links to the two FS distributors has a problem too: both link to Recettear in the stores. The right purchase links are:

Fortune Summoners: Secret of the Elemental Stone / Re: Item list?
« on: February 12, 2012, 10:58:56 PM »
It definitely is! :)

Just found that elusive address; it works like you thought, controlling item class independently from the item type/function code. For example, when a pot's class was changed to 'slime bean', Arche's father accepted that in the help quest, even though it still looked and functioned as a pot for any other purposes.

Also, a pot saved with 'slime bean' class turned into slime bean after reload, meaning that changes in this address are retained after save. So, looks like both of the above-mentioned problems are taken care of. Thanks again for your help! :-)

If you'd like to play around with the stuff, just offset the previous item address by -C to get the new one. Values are a bit of a problem though, as they don't seem to follow any logical order. Ones I've found so far:

Bronze Sword - 110010
Mattress Beater - 111010
Iron Dagger - 112020
Cloth Armor - 120010
Woven Gloves - 140005
Herb - 201010
Venom away - 201020
Menta - 201051
Taiyaki - 201052
Slime Bean - 201053
Honey - 201100
Merrin Gum - 201062

Can you make any sense of this? Feels like trying to solve the Da Vinci code... O_o

(btw. if your addresses shifted and don't have a pointer, you could find Money first, subtract 1FD8 from that address to get the item function address, then subtract C from that to get this new item class address... saves some time until pointers are found.)

Thanks for the feedback! :-)

I'll improve on the recording quality, though the basic recording setup that I have access to is going to limit that.

Sabin, I've checked out OCR before, and while the stuff they do is fantastic, their high quality standard for audio makes it feel a bit intimidating to put stuff like this on there. XD But thanks!
