Bump, found this exact issue as well.

Oddly enough, it's Louie with another Santa Hat, though I vaguely remember this happening with other items as well?  Not sure, might just be because everyone wears Santa Hats...

Minor bug indeed, since the adventurer doesn't end up equipping it, but a little confusing the first time nonetheless.
